Went and saw the doctor, to be told I'm "still not well" and given another sick note for 3 more weeks. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing!

Rewired my shoot and scoot .30cal, so that the mag autowinder was no longer 'auto' but through a push button switch at the back. Can now wind independently of shooting. Rewired the battery unit for the winder to the outside underneath of the gun housing for ease of change. (9V battery being used rather than 4 x AA batteries.) Which makes the winder turn over a bit faster.

Oh and the obligatory foot/sock in the 1st pic

Making repro's for our Waltham Abbey display, though I'm starting to loose the will to live with scanning and printing so have quit for now.

Ta Del, they ain't perfect but they're better than nothing, readable, hopefully will add to the display planned . As the originals are rather aged and yellowed (and then some) and obviously I had to attempt to remove that (couldn't remove the creases from the front (there part of the scan not the repro  ) but means they can be man handled on a display and I won't cry if they get wet

Started working on my SMLE

I got quite a bit done and then at 21:55 last night the chisel slipped... eeekk

3 hours later in casualty the doctor superglued the deep 20mm gash I have on the middle finger of my left hand.

When I started this I just knew that something like this would happen... I'm a right clutz!

Anyway I can drive still and the doctor said it should heal up quite quickly, so my plans for the weekend have not changed... Though mag changes may be more awkward...

Try and keep your finger reasonably straight mate, that glue is great but doesn't like bending, it won't heal as quick.

you see........ i make this joinery stuff look easy. what you dont see is the 20 years of cuts, and enough stitches to make a few hundred tapestrys. ( yith, always have a bottle of mitre mate and a tin of the activator handy for just such incidents. oh, and sharpen your chisels, less injuries with sharp gear )

Mitre mate???

My sharpening stone was right next to where I was working and was being used...

Alex, yeah I'm trying not to bend it. I've noticed the most pain comes from rubbing the index finger on it, so I now have an odd lump of lint and micropore tape on the side of my finger acting as a spacer to stop the rubbing. It seems to be working.-- attachment is not available --
